Jets 6, Panthers 3

Mark Scheifele delivered a standout performance with his ninth career hat trick, propelling the Winnipeg Jets to a 6-3 victory over the Florida Panthers in a home-and-home series finale. Winnipeg, who suffered a 5-0 loss to Florida in their previous meeting, rebounded impressively to improve to 9-1-0 at home.

Scheifele’s third goal, a key insurance marker, came just after a power play and proved critical when Matthew Tkachuk scored late for Florida to cut the deficit to 4-3. However, Morgan Barron sealed the win with two empty-net, short-handed goals. Connor Hellebuyck made 20 saves for the Jets, while Florida’s A.J. Greer and Sam Reinhart added goals in a losing effort. The Panthers have now dropped three of their last four games after a seven-game winning streak.

Ducks 3, Blackhawks 2

Leo Carlsson scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period to lift the Anaheim Ducks over the Chicago Blackhawks, securing their third straight win. Alex Killorn contributed a goal and an assist, while Trevor Zegras added two assists in the Ducks’ effort.

Chicago’s Jason Dickinson netted both of the Blackhawks’ goals, marking his first multi-goal game of the season. Rookie Connor Bedard, who had gone three games without a point, tallied two assists. Despite the loss, Bedard continues to show flashes of brilliance, with five of his 12 assists this season coming against Anaheim.

Rangers 4, Canucks 3

The New York Rangers earned their third consecutive victory with a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Chris Kreider provided the game-winning goal in the third period, while Igor Shesterkin made 21 saves to improve the Rangers’ road record to an impressive 7-1-0.

The Canucks, who finished a six-game homestand with a disappointing 2-4-0 record, saw goals from Quinn Hughes, Conor Garland, and Kiefer Sherwood. Elias Pettersson recorded two assists, but Vancouver’s struggles at home persisted.

Lightning 3, Penguins 2 (OT)

Brayden Point returned from injury to score twice, including the overtime game-winner, as the Tampa Bay Lightning edged the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Point’s winning goal came 3:58 into the extra session, capping a strong performance from a Tampa Bay squad that improved to 5-0-1 against Metropolitan Division opponents. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 17 saves, while Anthony Cirelli chipped in with his fifth goal of the season.

The Penguins squandered an early 2-0 lead despite strong contributions from Sidney Crosby, who notched his 1,017th career assist on Rickard Rakell’s power-play goal. Pittsburgh has now lost three of its past five games.

Flames 2, Islanders 1 (SO)

The Calgary Flames battled back to defeat the New York Islanders 2-1 in a shootout, with Andrei Kuzmenko and Justin Kirkland converting in the tiebreaker.

Rasmus Andersson scored the Flames’ lone goal in regulation, and Dustin Wolf stopped 28 shots for Calgary, who have now won three of their last four games. For the Islanders, Pierre Engvall scored the lone goal, but Semyon Varlamov’s 30-save effort wasn’t enough to secure a victory. New York has been to extra time in four of its past five games, earning just one win in that stretch.

Wild 4, Blues 2

Kirill Kaprizov scored twice to lead the Minnesota Wild past the struggling St. Louis Blues. Ryan Hartman and Jonas Brodin also scored for the Wild, who are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. Filip Gustavsson made 22 saves to secure the win.

The Blues’ recent struggles continued as they fell to 1-5-1 in their last seven games. Jordan Binnington made 24 saves, but St. Louis couldn’t muster enough offense to stay competitive. Center Robert Thomas returned to the lineup after missing 12 games with a broken ankle but was unable to make a significant impact.
