Zach Hyman extended his goal streak to six games, matching his career high, as the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Ottawa Senators 3-1. Hyman’s go-ahead goal in the second period powered the Oilers to their 11th win in 13 games, moving them into second place in the Pacific Division, just three points behind the Vegas Golden Knights. Viktor Arvidsson added a goal and an assist, while Adam Henrique also scored for Edmonton. Stuart Skinner contributed with 20 saves.

The Senators, who saw their six-game winning streak snapped, got a goal from Nick Cousins. Linus Ullmark, on a personal seven-game win streak, left after the first period due to an upper-body injury, with Leevi Merilainen stepping in and stopping 12 of 14 shots.

Capitals Secure Victory Over Kings

Aliaksei Protas scored twice as the Washington Capitals defeated the Los Angeles Kings 3-1. Jakub Vrana tallied the game-winning goal, while Pierre-Luc Dubois added two assists. Logan Thompson made 25 saves to help Washington notch its 10th win in the last 13 games.

Kevin Fiala provided the lone goal for the Kings, who dropped consecutive games for the first time since mid-November. David Rittich recorded 18 saves for Los Angeles.


Avalanche Dominate Kraken Behind Kiviranta’s Hat Trick

Joel Kiviranta recorded his first career hat trick as the Colorado Avalanche rolled past the Seattle Kraken 5-2 in Denver. Cale Makar contributed a goal and two assists, while Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen each logged two assists. Mackenzie Blackwood made 17 saves as Colorado extended its win streak to three games.

Seattle’s Jared McCann and Kaapo Kakko scored, but the Kraken couldn’t overcome the Avalanche’s offensive firepower. Joey Daccord made 24 saves for Seattle.


Hurricanes End Road Skid with Win Over Rangers

Jack Roslovic scored the tiebreaking goal on a late second-period power play as the Carolina Hurricanes ended a five-game road losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers. Roslovic also drew the double-minor power play after being high-sticked by Alexis Lafreniere.

Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov shined with 22 saves and two assists for Carolina. Igor Shesterkin stopped 28 shots for New York, which has now lost 12 of its last 16 games.


Ducks Rally to Top Utah in Shootout

The Anaheim Ducks overcame a three-goal deficit to defeat the Utah Hockey Club 5-4 in a shootout in Salt Lake City. Robby Fabbri led Anaheim’s comeback with two goals, while Mason McTavish scored the decisive goal in the shootout.

Clayton Keller had two goals and two assists for Utah, extending the team’s point streak to eight games despite the loss. Jaxson Stauber made 26 saves in net for Utah.

Panthers Take Down Lightning in Special-Teams Showcase

A.J. Greer and Eetu Luostarinen scored short-handed goals during the same penalty kill as the Florida Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-2. Sam Reinhart added two goals to lift Florida to its fourth consecutive victory and first place in the NHL for special-teams markers.

Brayden Point and Nick Paul scored for Tampa Bay, whose four-game winning streak ended. The Lightning also fell to 0-4-0 against Atlantic Division opponents this season.
