Pennzoil 400 Lubes Up the Track – March 3

After a couple weekends on the East Coast, the NASCAR Cup Series heads west to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for today’s running of the Pennzoil 400. Last week, it was Daniel Suarez capturing the victory in the Ambetter 400 in Atlanta in a thrilling finish. The NASCAR season kicked off with the annual Daytona 500 in Florida. William Byron came through late to win the Great American Race.

While we here at Sports Hub love our NBA, NFL, and other major sports, we know that there is money to be made in betting on events like the Pennzoil 400. Betting on NASCAR is a niche that bettors should explore. The markets are not as tight and bettors can find great value.

Kyle Larson is favored to win today’s Pennzoil 400

Consider today’s Pennzoil 400 odds to win the race. Bettors can find legitimate contenders to take the crown today at very favorable odds. Kyle Larson is today’s favorite and he’s given +350 odds. Byron, the winner of the Daytona 500, is one of the top five contenders and is listed at +600. Last year’s NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney checks in at +1000. Of course, betting on the Pennzoil 400’s winner is not the only bet you can place today.

How to Bet the Pennzoil 400

Betting on the race winner is, of course, the most popular way to bet the Pennzoil 400, or any race for that matter. Any consideration of today’s winner has to involve Larson, who has either finished first or second in each of the last three years.

Picking the race winner can be difficult, though the payouts are great. Bettors can sacrifice a better payout for an outcome that is more likely to happen. Take the Pennzoil 400 Top 3 market. Here, you can wager on a driver to finish in the Top 3. Larson is given -160 odds in this market. Byron is listed at +170 and Blaney is at +340. All the driver has to do is finish in the Top 3.

Bettors can expand on the top finishes and wager on the Top 10 as well. Larson is listed at -500, to give you a great example of the trade off between odds and likelihood of success.

Bet Pennzoil Head-to-Head Finish

Another way to bet today’s Pennzoil 400 is to bet on individual racer matchups. It’s like betting on a winner in MLB, NBA, or any other sport. Two drivers are paired together and given moneyline odds on which one will finish higher.

For example, Joey Logano is pitted against Martin Truex Jr., two well-known drivers. Logano is given the edge here at -156 odds to finish higher than Truex. Truex is the underdog at +122.

In the end, If Logano finishes fourth and Truex finishes seventh, Logano is the winner. He doesn’t have to win the race. He only has to finish higher than Truex. There are a number of head-to-head matchups available at sportsbooks for today’s Pennzoil 400.
