With another enthralling weekend of EPL action in the books, it’s time for Sports Hub’s Premier League Matchweek 4 review.

A whopping 41 goals were scored across 10 EPL encounters last weekend, with Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur both scoring five. Unsurprisingly, Man City leads the way with a 100% record, while Spurs find themselves second in the table.

If you’re looking for Premier League results, analysis and betting trends, you have certainly come to the right place. Without further ado, let’s begin our Premier League Matchweek 4 review.

Matchweek 4 Premier League Results

It only makes sense to begin our Premier League Matchweek 4 review by looking at the results from the previous round of fixtures. The first three rounds served up plenty of goals and action – and Matchweek 4 followed suit.

  • Luton Town 1-2 West Ham United
  • Sheffield United 2-2 Everton
  • Manchester City 5-1 Fulham
  • Chelsea 0-1 Nottingham Forest
  • Burnley 2-5 Tottenham Hotspur
  • Brentford 2-2 Bournemouth
  • Brighton & Hove Albion 3-1 Newcastle United
  • Crystal Palace 3-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers
  • Liverpool 3-0 Aston Villa
  • Arsenal 3-1 Manchester United

Goals from Jarrod Bowen and Kurt Zouma saw West Ham claim a 2-1 victory over Luton on Friday night. As a result, the Hammers remain unbeaten this season, having picked up three wins and one draw in 2023-24.

Man City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal also extended their unbeaten starts to the season during Matchweek 4. City and Spurs both scored five goals last time out, while Liverpool and Arsenal both scored three.

As you can see, it rained goals in the EPL last weekend. In the next section of our Premier League Matchweek 4 review, we cover all the key EPL betting trends, including wins, losses, goals, player stats and a whole load more.

Betting Trends – Premier League Matchweek 4 Review

Following four rounds of fixtures, the Premier League – along with many other leagues around the world – will pause for the next fortnight due to the international break. That gives us the opportunity to take stock and evaluate Premier League betting trends in 2023-24.

We may only be a month into the season, but there are already lots of statistics to analyze. Not only can we assess the form of teams and players, but we can also study other useful data like BTTS, over/under goals, clean sheets and more.

If you enjoy wagering on soccer and want to take your EPL betting to the next level, the information in this Premier League Matchweek 4 review will stand you in good stead for the season ahead.

Basic Premier League Betting Trends

Who enjoyed a successful Matchweek 4? Which teams remain unbeaten in 2023-24? Which teams have failed to pick up a single point this season? In this section of our Premier League Matchweek 4 review, we answer those questions.

  • There were only two draws in the Premier League during Matchweek 4
  • West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham all won on the road
  • Man City, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Arsenal triumphed on home soil
  • Man City is the only team with a 100% record after four games
  • Tottenham, Liverpool, West Ham, Arsenal and Brentford also remain unbeaten
  • Burnley and Luton are the only teams without a point this season
  • Everton, Sheff Utd and Bournemouth have also failed to taste victory in 2023-24

One of the shock results of Matchweek 4 was Nottingham Forest’s away win at Chelsea. The Tricky Trees managed to win just one of their 19 games on the road last season, but they have already notched their first away victory of the 2023-24 campaign.

Man City occupies first place in the standings after securing four straight wins, scoring 11 goals in the process. Having recorded three wins and one draw, Tottenham, Liverpool, West Ham and Arsenal also remain unbeaten.

At the opposite end of the table, Burnley and Luton have lost all three of their games, while Everton, Sheffield United and Bournemouth have failed to find a win so far.

Premier League Betting Trends – Goals

This segment of our Premier League Matchweek 4 review centers on goal statistics. If you enjoy wagering on BTTS, totals and other goal-based EPL betting markets, you will benefit from digesting the information below.

  • Nine of the 10 clashes during Matchweek 4 produced over 2.5 goals
  • Seven of the 10 encounters in Matchweek 4 dished up over 3.5 goals
  • Man City and Tottenham both scored five goals last weekend
  • Nottingham Forest and Liverpool were the only teams to keep a clean sheet
  • Both teams scored in eight of the 10 Matchweek 4 clashes
  • West Ham and Brighton have a 100% BTTS ratio this season
  • Brighton (12), Man City (11) and Tottenham (11) are the highest scorers
  • Everton (2), Luton (2) and Burnley (3) are the lowest scorers this season
  • Luton, Burnley, Brighton and Tottenham’s matches have all seen over 2.5 goals
  • All four of Brighton’s games have produced over 3.5 goals

Remarkably, only one clash in Matchweek 4 failed to produce over 2.5 goals. No fewer than seven encounters dished up over 3.5 goals, while Nottingham Forest and Liverpool managed to achieve a shutout last weekend.

It is worth noting that West Ham and Brighton have seen both teams score in all four games this season. The Seagulls are also the highest scorers in the division with 12 goals, meaning they average three goals per game in 2023-24.

If you want to target the over 2.5 goals market, you should know that all of Luton, Burnley, Brighton and Tottenham’s clashes have served up at least three goals this term.

Premier League Betting Trends – Player Stats

For the first time since 1995, three players scored Premier League hat-tricks on the same day on Saturday. You probably won’t be surprised to learn that Erling Haaland netted a treble in Matchweek 4, but who joined him?

  • Three players scored a hat-trick in Matchweek 4 – Erling Haaland, Son Heung-min and Evan Ferguson
  • Haaland (6), Ferguson (4) and Bryan Mbeumo (4) are the top goalscorers this season
  • Jarrod Bowen, Taiwo Awoniyi, Odsonne Edouard and Solly March have all scored three goals
  • Kaoru Mitoma, James Ward-Prowse, Phil Foden and Pedro Neto have all notched three assists
  • Ederson and Guglielmo Vicario are the only goalkeepers to have achieved two clean sheets this season

Tottenham’s Son Heung-min and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson joined Haaland in the hat-trick club last weekend. Haaland has already bagged six goals in four games this term, while Ferguson has netted four in two starts.

In terms of assists, Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma, West Ham’s James Ward-Prowse, Man City’s Phil Foden and Wolves’ Pedro Neto lead the way with three each. As for clean sheets, Man City’s Ederson and Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario are the only goalkeepers with multiple shutouts to their name.
