White Sox Power Past Reds, 7-3

Brandon Drury went 3-for-3 with two home runs, a double, and five RBIs as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 7-3, Friday in Phoenix.

Drury, a 10-year MLB veteran, homered in the first to establish a 2-0 lead and added a three-run shot in the fourth. Mason Adams (1-1) earned the win despite allowing two runs without a hit in 1 1/3 innings.

Reds starter Graham Ashcraft (0-3) allowed three runs on four walks in 2 2/3 innings. Will Banfield homered for Cincinnati.

Nationals Rally Past Braves, 5-3

Jared McKenzie’s two-run homer in the eighth lifted the Washington Nationals to a 5-3 win over the Atlanta Braves in North Port, Florida.

Jackson Rutledge threw three scoreless innings for Washington. Patrick Weigel (1-0) earned the win, and Tyler Schoff recorded the save.

James Wood doubled twice off Braves starter Spencer Schwellenbach, who fanned seven over 4 2/3 innings but allowed two runs. Marcell Ozuna homered for Atlanta.

Red Sox Dominate Marlins, 9-4

Roman Anthony went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs as the Boston Red Sox beat the Miami Marlins, 9-4, in Jupiter, Florida.

Richard Fitts (1-0) pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings for the win. Seby Zavala added a two-run homer.

Miami’s Max Meyer (0-2) struck out four in three innings but allowed two runs.

Athletics Crush Angels, 12-1

Shea Langeliers went 3-for-3 with a home run and a double as the Oakland Athletics dominated the Los Angeles Angels, 12-1, in Mesa, Arizona.

Willie MacIver also homered, and Joey Estes (3-0) allowed one run in four innings for the win.

Nolan Schanuel and David Mershon each had two hits for the Angels. Starter Tyler Anderson (1-2) surrendered six runs in 3 1/3 innings.

Guardians Walk Off Against Mariners, 8-7

Cleveland rallied from a 5-0 deficit to defeat the Seattle Mariners, 8-7, in Goodyear, Arizona, on a throwing error in the ninth.

Will Brennan hit two two-run homers, and Lane Thomas added a three-run shot for the Guardians. Logan Allen allowed four runs in 3 2/3 innings.

Julio Rodriguez and Jorge Polanco each had two RBIs for Seattle. Jason Ruffcorn (0-1) took the loss.

Diamondbacks Edge Reds, 2-1

Pavin Smith hit a solo homer in the eighth to lift the Arizona Diamondbacks past the Cincinnati Reds’ split squad, 2-1, in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Eduardo Rodriguez was perfect for 3 2/3 innings, striking out six. Ketel Marte had an RBI single.

Cincinnati’s Sammy Stafura homered in the sixth. Chase Petty allowed one run in three innings.

Royals Rally to Beat Angels, 9-8

Peyton Wilson’s eighth-inning home run completed Kansas City’s comeback from six runs down to beat the Los Angeles Angels’ split squad, 9-8, in Tempe, Arizona.

Hunter Renfroe had two hits and two RBIs. Taylor Clarke earned the win in relief.

Yusei Kikuchi struck out eight in 4 1/3 innings for Los Angeles. Nick Jones (0-1) took the loss.

Brewers Power Past Giants, 11-5

Christian Yelich hit a grand slam off Jordan Hicks as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the San Francisco Giants, 11-5, in Phoenix.

Marco Dinges, Jared Oliva, and Joey Ortiz added home runs. Nestor Cortes struck out seven but allowed three runs in 3 1/3 innings.

Luis Matos and David Villar homered for San Francisco. Hicks (0-1) allowed four runs in 2 2/3 innings.
