Orioles No-Hit Pirates in Spring Training Stunner

Spring Training is in full swing, and Saturday’s matchups brought plenty of excitement, including a historic no-hitter by the Baltimore Orioles against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Despite Pittsburgh’s star pitcher Paul Skenes taking the mound, it was Baltimore’s pitching that stole the show.

Eflin and Orioles’ Bullpen Shine

The Orioles defeated the Pirates 4-0, with Zach Eflin starting the game and setting the tone. Eflin pitched three innings, striking out four and allowing just one walk. The bullpen kept the Pirates hitless for the rest of the game, combining for a no-hitter with impressive innings from Riley Cooper, Gregory Soto, Yennier Cano, Cionel Perez, Bryan Baker, and Roansy Contreras.

Livan Soto led the Orioles’ offense with two hits and an RBI, helping Baltimore secure the win. The Pirates’ Skenes put up a strong effort, allowing no runs and just one hit over 3 1/3 innings. Despite his impressive performance, Pittsburgh’s bats couldn’t deliver, resulting in a frustrating loss.

Blue Jays Edge Twins 2-1 Behind Scherzer’s Strong Start

Alan Roden led the Blue Jays’ offense with two hits and an RBI, while Byron Buxton homered for the Twins. Despite Minnesota’s efforts, Scherzer’s dominant pitching and Toronto’s timely hits secured the narrow victory.

Phillies’ Comeback Shocks Yankees 8-7

Aaron Judge hit his first home run of the spring, but the New York Yankees fell to the Philadelphia Phillies 8-7 in Tampa, Fla. Judge’s two-run blast came in the third inning off Jesus Luzardo.

However, the Phillies staged a dramatic comeback with an eight-run ninth inning, highlighted by Robert Moore’s three-run homer. Leonardo Pestana took the loss after giving up Moore’s blast.
