Spencer Jones’ grand slam highlighted the second, followed by Andy Ibáñez and Gleyber Torres going back-to-back-to-back off Phillies starter Jesús Luzardo (0-1). Tomas Nido launched two-run homers in the sixth and eighth, powering the Tigers. Reese Olson (1-0) notched four strikeouts and permitted one hit over three innings. Buddy Kennedy, Christian Arroyo, and Johan Rojas homered late for Philadelphia, while Luzardo was tagged for six runs on six hits over two innings.

Garrett Crochet racked up seven strikeouts over three hitless frames, guiding Boston past visiting Tampa Bay in Fort Myers, Fla. Livan Soto went 3-for-3 with a run, an RBI, and a stolen base in Baltimore’s road victory in Fort Myers, Fla. Adley Rutschman and Heston Kjerstad each had two hits and a run batted in, while Gerald Ogando (1-0) notched the win in relief. Minnesota’s Royce Lewis and Ty France posted two hits and an RBI apiece. Twins starter Pablo López (0-2) pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on three hits.

Collin Price’s single in the bottom of the ninth plated Kenedy Corona for host Houston’s walk-off over St. Louis in West Palm Beach, Fla. Jeremy Peña, José Altuve, Jake Meyers, and Luis Castro all homered for the Astros. Miguel Ullola (1-1) got the win in relief, and Hunter Brown yielded two runs over 2 1/3 innings as the starter. Sonny Gray served up three homers in 2 2/3 frames for the Cardinals, and Luken Baker plus José Barrero each homered for St. Louis, which fell on Price’s two-out walk-off.
Nationals 8, Marlins 7
Washington tallied four runs in the eighth, including a 432-foot homer by Cayden Wallace, to stun Miami in Jupiter, Fla. James Wood, Luis García Jr., and Andrew Pinckney also belted their first spring home runs for the Nationals, who trailed 5-0 at one point. Mackenzie Gore fanned four across three innings, allowing two hits. Brett de Geus (0-1) took the loss for the Marlins after giving up all four eighth-inning runs. Rob Brantly’s three-run homer in the third marked Miami’s only extra-base hit.

Andruw Monasterio drilled a two-run homer in the second inning, sparking Milwaukee’s split squad to victory in Phoenix. Tobias Myers (2-0) retired all nine batters he faced, striking out three. Logan Henderson picked up the save by closing out the final 2 2/3 innings, also with three strikeouts. Martin Pérez (0-1) took the loss for Chicago, yielding three runs (two earned) on four hits in three frames. Andrew Vaughn and DJ Gladney each had doubles for the White Sox.

Kyle Teel’s three-run homer ignited an eight-run eighth as the other White Sox split squad rallied for a road win in Phoenix. Nick Maton and Tristan Gray also went deep in the inning. Adael Amador’s two-run single in the eighth extended the Rockies’ lead to 4-1. Padres starter Michael King whiffed three in two innings, while Jacob Higginbotham (0-2) took the loss after giving up two runs in the sixth. San Diego’s Yuli Gurriel doubled for the lone extra-base hit among six Padres hits.

Kiké Hernández lined a go-ahead two-run double in the sixth inning, and Eddie Rosario slugged a solo homer as the Dodgers overcame an early 2-0 deficit in Tempe, Ariz.
