No. 22 Illinois Dominates No. 9 Oregon in Eugene

Ben Humrichous scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half as No. 22 Illinois crushed No. 9 Oregon 109-77 on Thursday night in Eugene, Ore.

Humrichous, a transfer from Evansville, connected on four of Illinois’ 16 3-pointers. Tre White led the Fighting Illini with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. Freshman Kasparas Jakucionis added 16 points, and Arizona transfer Kylan Boswell scored 15.

Illinois (10-3, 2-1 Big Ten) shot 57.5 percent from the field and held a 43-31 edge on the boards. Reserves Jake Davis and Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Supreme Cook paced Oregon (12-2, 1-2) with 20 points off the bench. Nate Bittle scored 13, Kwame Evans had 11, and TJ Bamba added 10 for the Ducks.

No. 19 Gonzaga Rolls Over Portland

Nolan Hickman scored 13 points, and Michael Ajayi grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds as No. 19 Gonzaga cruised to an 81-50 victory over Portland in Spokane, Wash.

Dusty Stromer chipped in with a season-best 12 points for Gonzaga (11-4, 2-0 West Coast Conference), which extended its dominance over Portland to 19 straight wins.

Vincent Delano led the Pilots (5-11, 0-3) with 12 points. Portland struggled offensively, shooting just 33.3 percent from the field and 4-for-25 from 3-point range.


No. 20 Purdue Handles Minnesota

Fletcher Loyer tallied 24 points on efficient 8-for-10 shooting, including 4-for-6 from 3-point range, as No. 20 Purdue defeated Minnesota 81-61 in Minneapolis.

Braden Smith recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 assists, adding six rebounds for Purdue (10-4, 2-1), which won its second consecutive game. Trey Kaufman-Renn contributed 17 points.

Dawson Garcia led Minnesota (8-6, 0-3) with 20 points and five rebounds, while Lu’Cye Patterson added 14 points and eight boards.

No. 21 Memphis Overwhelms Florida Atlantic

Tyrese Hunter scored 20 points, and PJ Haggerty added 19 to lead No. 21 Memphis to a commanding 90-62 victory over Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Fla., in the American Athletic Conference opener for both teams.

Dain Dainja scored all 16 of his points in the second half for Memphis (11-3, 1-0 AAC), stepping up after picking up his fourth foul early in the period.

Kaleb Glenn led Florida Atlantic (7-7, 0-1) with 12 points and seven rebounds. The Owls shot just 16.1 percent (5-for-31) from beyond the arc, while Memphis converted 55.6 percent (10-of-18) of its 3-point attempts.
