Villanova Upsets No. 9 UConn in Thriller
Eric Dixon scored 18 of his 23 points in the second half to lead Villanova to a 68-66 upset of No. 9 UConn in a raucous atmosphere at the Wildcats’ on-campus gym. Wooga Poplar added 18 points as Villanova (11-5, 4-1 Big East) snapped UConn’s eight-game winning streak.
UConn (12-4, 4-1) missed a chance to take the lead late, with Alex Karaban missing two free throws with 3.1 seconds left. The Huskies briefly led 57-55 in the second half, but Villanova regained control with crucial baskets by Dixon and Jordan Longino.

No. 5 Alabama Rolls Past South Carolina
Mark Sears scored 22 points and added six assists to propel No. 5 Alabama to an 88-68 road victory over South Carolina. The Crimson Tide (13-2, 2-0 SEC) extended their winning streak to seven games.
Jacobi Wright led South Carolina (10-5, 0-2) with 20 points, but the Gamecocks struggled to keep pace. Jamarii Thomas contributed 15 points before fouling out late in the game.
No. 10 Texas A&M Edges No. 17 Oklahoma in Comeback Win
Zhuric Phelps delivered a career-high 34 points, including a clutch go-ahead 3-pointer with 19.6 seconds left, as No. 10 Texas A&M rallied to beat No. 17 Oklahoma 80-78 in Norman, Okla. The Aggies (13-2, 2-0 SEC) erased an 18-point second-half deficit to secure their ninth consecutive win.
Oklahoma (13-2, 0-2) was powered by Brycen Goodine’s season-high 34 points, including nine 3-pointers, but couldn’t hold off Texas A&M’s late surge.
No. 11 Kansas Pulls Away from Arizona State
Zeke Mayo scored 23 points, and Hunter Dickinson posted a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds as No. 11 Kansas defeated Arizona State 74-55 in Lawrence, Kan. The Jayhawks (11-3, 2-1 Big 12) used a dominant second half, including an 11-0 run, to take control.
Arizona State (10-4, 1-2) endured a seven-minute scoring drought to start the second half and never recovered.
No. 13 Illinois Crushes Penn State
Ben Humrichous scored 19 of his season-high 21 points in the first half to lead No. 13 Illinois to a 91-52 rout of Penn State in Champaign, Ill. Tre White and Morez Johnson Jr. each added 20 points for the Fighting Illini (12-3, 4-1 Big Ten).
Penn State (12-4, 2-3) struggled offensively, setting a season low for points and shooting well below their average.
No. 18 Gonzaga Overpowers San Diego
Five players scored in double figures as No. 18 Gonzaga defeated San Diego 93-80 in Spokane, Wash. Ben Gregg led the Bulldogs (13-4, 4-0 WCC) with 23 points, and Graham Ike added 15 points and 19 rebounds.
San Diego (4-13, 1-3) was led by reserve Kjay Bradley with 21 points but suffered its 19th straight loss to Gonzaga.

No. 23 Ole Miss Holds Off Arkansas
Malik Dia scored a season-high 21 points, including a critical late 3-pointer, as No. 23 Ole Miss defeated Arkansas 73-66 in Fayetteville. Sean Pedulla added 16 points for the Rebels (13-2, 2-0 SEC).
Adou Thiero led Arkansas (11-4, 0-2) with 17 points and nine rebounds, but the Razorbacks couldn’t complete their rally.
