As expected, Spain, France, Belgium and Portugal will all partake in next year’s tournament. However, Scotland and Turkey are surprise qualifiers, as neither side was favored to win or advance from their group.

Euro 2024 Qualifying Betting Trends
It’s almost time for me to share my Matchday 8 Euro qualifying. Before we go any further, though, I want to share some useful betting trends with you. The following stats will only enhance your chances of making a profit during Matchday 8.
KEY BETTING TRENDS FOR EURO 2024 QUALIFYING
- France and Portugal each boast 100% records in Euro 2024 qualifying
- England, Belgium, Hungary, Romania and Switzerland remain unbeaten
- Cyprus, Gibraltar, Malta, San Marino and Liechtenstein have failed to register a point
- Faroe Islands, Estonia, Bulgaria and Andorra remain winless
- Portugal (27), Switzerland (20) and Spain (19) are the highest-scoring teams
- San Marino and Gibraltar have failed to score a goal
- France (1), England (2), Hungary (2) and Portugal (2) have the best defensive records
- Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku (9) and Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo (7) are the top scorers
- Portugal’s Bruno Fernandes (7) and Netherlands’ Denzel Dumfries (5) have the most assists
- France’s Mike Maignan and Portugal’s Diogo Costa have kept four clean sheets in five games
France and Portugal are the only teams to have won every match in Euro 2024 qualifying. That said, England, Belgium, Hungary, Romania and Switzerland also head into Matchday 8 with unbeaten records.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Malta, San Marino and Liechtenstein have lost every single game, while the Faroe Islands, Estonia, Bulgaria and Andorra have failed to taste victory so far.
If you enjoy utilizing goal-based betting markets, Portugal, Switzerland and Spain are the top scorers. San Marino and Gibraltar have failed to score a single goal, while France, England, Hungary and Portugal boast the best defensive records.
Matchday 8 Euro Qualifying Predictions
Okay, I won’t make you wait any longer. Here are my Matchday 8 Euro qualifying predictions and picks. Having recapped Matchday 7 and analyzed all the key betting trends, I’m confident that we can land a tasty profit.
There are seven games taking place on Monday, October 16, but my Matchday 8 Euro qualifying predictions concern three clashes taking place on Tuesday, October 17.
Can England secure a spot at Euro 2024 by defeating Italy? Will Malta upset the odds against Ukraine? Could Montenegro get the better of Serbia? Read on to discover my Matchday 8 Euro qualifying predictions.
England vs. Italy Prediction
Odds: England (-163); Italy (+450)
England remains unbeaten in Euro 2024 qualifying after picking up four wins and one draw. Not only have the Three Lions scored a whopping 16 goals (3.2 goals per game), but they have also conceded on just two occasions.
Gareth Southgate’s team claimed a narrow 1-0 friendly victory over Australia, but the manager rested many of his key players. With stars like Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice set to return on Tuesday, England will be far stronger.
On the flip side, Italy has taken 10 points from a possible 15 in Euro 2024 qualifying. Following a 2-1 loss against England in the reverse fixture back in March, I expect the Italians to endure another defeat at Wembley.
Best Bet: England (-163)
Malta vs. Ukraine Prediction
Odds: Malta (+900); Ukraine (-350)
Five teams have failed to register a solitary point in Euro 2024 qualifying, and Malta is one of them. The minnows have suffered six successive defeats in Group C, conceding 15 goals (2.5 goals per game) while scoring just twice.
As a result, Malta trails Ukraine by 10 points ahead of Matchday 8. The Ukrainians have performed well under difficult circumstances, winning three of their six games while holding England to a 1-1 draw last month.
When you consider Ukraine’s superiority over Malta, odds of -350 for the away win are pretty generous. That said, Michele Marcolini’s men are fighting for their lives, so they could upset the odds on home soil.

Serbia vs. Montenegro Prediction
Odds: Serbia (-275); Montenegro (+700)
Serbia and Montenegro was an entire country between 1992 and 2006, following the breakup of Yugoslavia. Now, Serbia and Montenegro are two separate nations competing in the same Euro 2024 qualifying group.
As it stands, second-placed Serbia leads third-placed Montenegro by two points in Group G. However, Montenegro has a game in hand on their rivals, meaning they could leapfrog Serbia in the standings with a win this week.
The moneyline odds suggest that Serbia will make light work of Montenegro, but Tuesday’s showdown looks destined to be a tense battle between two rival sides. With that in mind, I recommend exploring a range of different markets here.
