UFC Nashville Picks, Odds and Preview

We’re going to identify the best UFC Nashville picks for Saturday’s fight card. The event will be hosted at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee and get underway at 6:00 PM ET.

The main event will feature Cory Sandhagen vs. Rob Font at catchweight (140 pounds).

UFC Nashville Preview

When: Saturday, August 4th 2023

Where: Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee

Time: Prelims (6:00 PM ET) / Main Card (9:00 PM ET)

Watch: ESPN or ESPN+ (USA) or TSN (Canada)

There are six ranked fighters on the card, including Sandhagen (#4 BW), Font (#7 BW), Jessica Andrade (#5 WSW), Tatiana Suarez (#10 WSW), Dustin Jacoby (#15 LHW) and Cody Durden (#13 FW).

The UFC Nashville weigh-ins are complete and only one fighter missed weight. Dennis Buzukja weighed in at 146.5 pounds, missing the upper weight limit by just a half pound. He’ll still fight Sean Woodson on the prelims, but he’ll forfeit 20% of his purse to his opponent for missing weight.

With Michel Pereira missing weight last week, one of my UFC 291 best bets was voided. I ended up going 2-2 (-$80) on my UFC 291 picks with Alex Pereira and Kevin Holland picking up wins.

Cory Sandhagen vs. Rob Font Prediction

• Fight Odds: Sandhagen (-360) vs. Font (+270)

Sandhagen (16-4) is 2-0 since last year with wins against Yadong Song (R4 TKO) and Marlon Vera (Dec). He’s a huge UFC betting favorite against Font (20-6) in the UFC Nashville main event.

Font is coming off a win against Adrian Yanez (R1 TKO), which snapped a two-fight losing streak. Font is averaging 6.46 SLpM and 4.03 SApM, while Sandhagen averages 5.98 SLpM and 3.90 SApM.

This fight will be fought on the feet for the most part. Font has power (9 TKO/KO wins) and will look to win by knockout. Sandhagen isn’t as powerful, but he’s great at keeping his distance and landing strikes.

This will be a close main event and I’m surprised Sandhagen is such a big favorite.

Jessica Andrade vs. Tatiana Suarez Prediction

• Fight Odds: Andrade (+300) vs. Suarez (-415)

Andrade (24-11) has taken a lot of punishment and appears to be on the decline. She’s 1-2 this year with losses against Erin Blanchfield (R2 Submission) and Xiaonan Yan (R1 KO). Suarez (9-0) got back in the cage in February after an almost four-year layoff and she beat Montana De La Rosa (R2 Submission).

Suarez will have a 4” reach advantage, but she’ll want to take this fight to the mat. Suarez has four wins by submission and she averages 6.12 takedowns per 15 minutes. Andrade averages 6.82 SLpM, but her problem has been striking defense (5.40 SApM). Suarez averages 4.35 SLpM and 1.34 SApM.

Dustin Jacoby vs. Kennedy Nzechukwu Prediction

• Fight Odds: Jacoby (+135) vs. Nzechukwu (-165)

Jacoby (18-7) is on a two-fight losing streak, with decision losses against Khalil Roundtree and Azamat Murzakanov. Nzechukwu (12-3) has won his last three fights by stoppage.

Nzechukwu will have a massive 7” reach advantage. Jacoby normally utilizes his length, but he won’t be able to do that in this fight. Nzechukwu averages 4.89 SLpM and 4.23 SApM. He has been rocked in the past and needs to be cautious, as Jacoby has lots of power (11 TKO/KO wins).

Jacoby averages 5.44 SLpM and 4.03 SApM. Neither fighter looks for takedowns often. These two guys are trending in opposite directions and I’m backing Nzechukwu to win on my UFC Nashville picks.

Best Bet: Kennedy Nzechukwu ML (-165)

Diego Lopes vs. Gavin Tucker Prediction

• Fight Odds: Lopes (-175) vs. Tucker (+145)

Lopes (21-6) lost his UFC debut against Movsar Evloev by decision on short notice. He enters the cage this weekend as the favorite against Tucker (13-2) who is 37 years old and inactive. Tucker last fought in March 2021 and he was knocked out by Dan Ige in 22 seconds.

Lopes will look to utilize his 6” reach advantage and submission game. Lopes has 11 submission wins and Tucker has six submission wins. Neither fighter has ever been tapped out.

Tucker averages 4.39 SLpM and 4.28 SApM. He averages 2.98 takedowns per 15 minutes. He’s going to land takedowns against Lopes, which will help him win rounds if Lopes is unable to finish the fight

Best Bet: SIGN IN TO ACCESS PICK

Tanner Boser vs. Aleksa Camur Prediction

• Fight Odds: Boser (-150) vs. Camur (+120)

Boser (20-10-1) moved down to LHW and lost to Ion Cutelaba (R1 TKO) in April. Camur (6-2) is 1-2 in the UFC after losing his last two fights by decision against William Knight and Nicolae Negumereanu.

Both fighters are generally durable. Boser has been stopped twice in his career and Camur hasn’t lost a fight by stoppage yet. Camur may have some cage rust, as he hasn’t fought since June 2021. This isn’t an exciting fight on paper, but with both guys being durable, I’m backing over 2.5 rounds.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 Rounds (-145)

UFC Nashville Picks – Best Parlay Bet

I definitely wouldn’t bet on Sandhagen ML or Suarez ML straight-up at these odds. However, both fighters should win. I’ll also be adding Nzechukwu to my UFC Nashville parlay bet so that it pays plus money.

Sandhagen ML + Suarez ML + Nzechukwu ML (+154 Odds)

There isn’t a lot to like on the UFC Nashville prelims this weekend. A number of fighters need to win, but I don’t trust them to get the job done and the UFC Nashville odds aren’t offering a lot of value.
