Unbeaten 49ers Look for Sixth Straight Victory – October 15

Sports Hub handicappers and bettors have been loving the San Francisco 49ers so far in 2023. The 49ers are a perfect 5-0 straight up and they are 4-1 ATS. Along with Detroit and Miami, the 49ers lead the NFL in ATS percentage. If not for a late Brett Maher field goal in a 30-23 win over the Rams, San Francisco would also be 5-0 ATS. Regardless, it’s worth a look at the Niners among your ATS sports picks.

The 49ers lead the NFL in ATS Percentage

The 49ers will put it all on the line today when they travel to Cleveland to face the Browns. San Francisco opened as a 1.5-point favorite, but news of Cleveland QB Deshaun Watson’s bum shoulder caused the line to adjust. When it was announced that Watson would not play, the line on today’s game reached its current 9.5. Cleveland played with rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson last week and got smoked 28-3 by Baltimore. The week prior, Watson played, threw for 289 yards and two TDs, and Cleveland beat Tennessee 27-3.

How the 49ers Do It

The 49ers may very well be the best team in the NFL right now. They have scored at least 30 points in all five of their games thus far. They rank No. 2 in the league in scoring averaging 33.4 points per game. The 49ers are equally as good on defense and have allowed more than 20 points just once. San Francisco leads the NFL in scoring defense allowing opponents to score just 13.6 points per game.

The 49ers have won all but one of their games – the 30-23 win over the Rams – by double digits. In fact, the 49ers lead the NFL in average scoring margin, beating their opponents by an average of 19.8 points per game. They beat a pretty good Dallas team last week 42-10 on Sunday Night Football.

The 49ers Are Crushing the Opposition

Running back Christian McCaffrey leads the league in rushing (510 yards) and set a franchise record with at least one touchdown in 13 straight games. Quarterback Brock Purdy continues to silence the doubters. He threw four touchdown passes last week and he owns the highest QB rating and passer rating in the NFL.

Now, with today’s line on the game at 49ers -9.5, San Francisco must pull off another double-digit win in order to cover. What do you do? The Browns will start P.J. Walker at quarterback today. The offense was a disaster last week. Will Walker make a difference? This is the perfect opportunity for bettors to see what the Sports Hub experts are doing. What if there was a way you could place 25 bets on college football, win at least 80 percent of them, and make over $1600? Well, there is. It’s called Sports Hub. Yesterday, we had a group of five Sports Hub experts that did exactly what I just described. These five cappers went 21-4 and absolutely crushed their 18 college football picks.

  • Perfect 4-0: Jhon Walsh was the first member of our Sports Hub expert group that went 21-4. He nailed both of his CFB picks as well as a soccer and an NHL pick to go 4-0 with winnings of $400. Jhon has two NFL picks in our database for today’s NFL games.
  • The OCD master: With his amazing attention to every last detail, Joe Berra went 6-2 and collected $390 in winnings. He correctly predicted both of his NCAAF picks. Joe has been on one this week with winnings of $745 over the last seven days.

Yesterday, he went 4-1 on his NCAAF picks and earned an extra $290. James has hit four of his last six NFL picks too. He’s got two NFL picks for today.
  • College football guru: Robert Ferguson is the last of the five cappers that went 21-4 and won a total of $1665 yesterday. Robert added 4 out of his 5 CFB picks and won $285. He has won 6 of his last 9 college football picks. These are five of the best handicappers in the world. It would be worth your while to see if they have picks for today’s NFL games, including the 49ers game.

Hat Tricks and Football Top Today’s Trends

It’s the time of year when pretty much all of the trending sports news revolves around football. It could be the NFL with teams like the unbeaten 49ers and Eagles or it could be college football where Georgia (7-0) and Michigan (7-0) reign supreme right now.

Let’s see what’s trending.

  • Huskies: Michael Penix Jr. threw an 18-yard TD pass to Rome Odunze with 1:38 left to play as No. 7 Washington won its Pac-12 showdown with No. 8 Oregon. Penix would finish 22-of-37 for 302 yards and 4 touchdowns. It was his lowest passing yard total of the season so far.
  • Hat tricks: Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews became just the fifth player in NHL history to start a season with a hat trick in his first two games. Alex Ovechkin (2017-18) is the only other modern era player to accomplish the feat.
  • Pick city: Reigning Heisman Trophy winner and USC starting quarterback Caleb Williams threw three interceptions last night in the Trojans 48-20 loss to Notre Dame. Like Penix, Williams had his worst game of the season going 23-of-37 for just 199 yards and one touchdown.
  • 49ers & Eagles: Only two unbeatens remain in the NFL. The 49ers and Eagles are both 5-0 and both will play on the road against sub-par teams today.
  • CFB Upsets: At the bottom of the latest AP Top 25 poll, four teams ranked No. 14 or lower were upset by an unranked opponent. A week after upsetting Notre Dame, No. 14  Louisville lost to a Pitt team that was 1-4. No. 19 Washington State got smoked by Arizona, 44-6. No. 23 Kansas lost to Oklahoma State and No. 24 Kentucky led 21-20 entering the fourth quarter only to lose to Missouri 38-20.

49ers Go for Win No. 6

It’s a beautiful Sunday full of NFL action, including the 49ers going for their sixth straight win. As mentioned earlier, they will play the Browns in Cleveland. The last London game of the season starts it all off today. The AL pennant series starts and there’s a ton of other sports on today’s bill.

What’s on your schedule today?

  1. Full NFL schedule: It’s just another Sunday in October full of NFL action. It kicks off with Baltimore and Tennessee in London and ends with the Giants at Buffalo on Sunday Night Football. In between somewhere, the 49ers will put their unbeaten record on the line at Cleveland. There are dozens of NFL picks in our database already. Check them out.
  2. MLB playoffs resume: Texas plays at Houston tonight in Game 1 of the American League Championship series. Jordan Montgomery will start for the Rangers against three-time Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander of the Astros. The NLCS starts tomorrow.
  1. Preseason basketball: The NBA has six preseason games on tap tonight. ESPN actually has a doubleheader with Milwaukee playing the Lakers at 7:00 p.m. ET and the Warriors at Golden State at 9:30 p.m. ET.

The Aces are attempting to become the first team to repeat as WNBA champion since the Los Angeles Sparks in 2001 and 2002.
  3. Slow NHL day: We mentioned Matthews and his two hat tricks. He won’t play today, but Tampa Bay is at Ottawa and Carolina plays at Anaheim. Those are the only two NHL games on the schedule today.
  4. Plenty of soccer: Pick a spot on the globe and there’s probably a soccer match there. The UEFA European Championship Qualifying and the CONCACAF Nations League head the schedule. You’ll find NCAA soccer, Argentine Nacional B, and even Nigerian Professional League matches today. Our cappers have about a dozen soccer picks in the system with more to come today.
  5. NASCAR Cup Series: William Byron has a five-point lead over Martin Truex Jr. in the Cup standings. Byron starts third and Truex fourth today in the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The final race is on Nov. 5. Yes, you can bet on auto racing
  6. Golf: Angel Yin won the Buick LPGA Shanghai, beating Lilia Vu in a playoff to earn the top prize of $315,000. On the men’s side, the final round of the Shriners Children’s Open is today in Las Vegas. Tom Kim, last year’s champ, Adam Hadwin, and Lanto Griffin enter the final round tied at 15-under.
