Kenin Upsets Kasatkina to Reach Tokyo Semifinals

Sofia Kenin continued her impressive run at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, ousting No. 3 seed Daria Kasatkina 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinals. Kenin converted six of 10 break points, wrapping up the victory in 78 minutes. She will next face Katie Boulter of Great Britain, who defeated Bianca Andreescu 6-2, 6-1 in just over an hour.

In the other semifinal, top-seeded Qinwen Zheng of China will take on No. 6 Diana Shnaider of Russia. Zheng advanced with a 6-0, 1-6, 6-3 win over Leylah Fernandez, while Shnaider reached the semifinals through a walkover after Sayaka Ishii withdrew with an abdominal injury.

Siniakova Advances to Semifinals at Guangzhou Open

Top seed Katerina Siniakova defeated Bernarda Pera 6-4, 7-5 to secure her place in the semifinals of the Guangzhou Open. Siniakova will face Olga Danilovic, who won 6-4, 6-4 against Mananchaya Sawangkaew.

The other semifinal in Guangzhou will feature Caroline Dolehide and Lucia Bronzetti. Dolehide overcame No. 7 Jessica Bouzas Maneiro 6-4, 4-6, 6-0, while Bronzetti took down Xiyu Wang 6-4, 6-1, saving six of seven break points in her victory.
