Week 14 NCAA Football Picks

Week 14 NCAA Football Picks

It’s finally here! Week 14 is championship week and that means all 10 of the FBS conferences will declare a champion by the time Saturday night turns into Sunday. That means your Week 14 NCAA football picks can turn you into a winner too. The title games begin with a pair of battles on Friday night. The Conference-USA and Pac-12 championship games are set for Friday night. The remaining eight title games will be played on Saturday and Sports Hub is your home for all of your Week 14 NCAA football picks.

The coaching carousel has already started. We mentioned Jimbo Fisher last week. He has been replaced with Duke head coach Mike Elko. Elko was actually Fisher’s defensive coordinator for a while before taking the job at Duke where he went an impressive 16-9. Michigan State, which fired Mel Tucker early in the season, hired Jonathan Smith away from Oregon State. Smith went 18-7 over the last two seasons and had the Beavers ranked in the CFP poll.

It’s Championship Week

Championship week means fewer games, but there is plenty of opportunity for success with your Week 14 NCAA football picks. Bettors get an appetizer of two games on Friday night and then swing for the fences with eight games on Saturday. Oklahoma State and Texas kick it all off in the Big 12 championship game at noon ET.

The Pac-12 title game on Friday as well as the SEC, Big Ten, and ACC championships on Saturday will have a direct impact on the final College Football Playoff rankings. After Week 13, the AP rankings have Georgia No. 1 followed by Michigan, Washington, and Florida State. All four teams are unbeaten and can stay in the top-4 if they are on the right side of the Week 14 NCAA football picks.

Best Pick ATS

There are going to be some great ATS Week 14 NCAA football picks, but the best place to start is in the Big 12 Championship Game. The Oklahoma State Cowboys are set to take on the Texas Longhorns, and the spread for this game is way too large at first glance.

This Longhorns team has been on a roll since the loss to Oklahoma, but they haven’t exactly been dominant in every single game that they have played. Texas will end up winning this game, but taking the 14.5 points and backing the Cowboys is the way to go.

Oklahoma State Cowboys +14.5

Best Moneyline Pick

The SEC Championship Game will once again feature the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide squaring off. These are two of the best teams in the country, but there is more pressure on Alabama to win due to the fact that they already have one loss this season.

Alabama has been on a tear since their lone loss to Texas this season, and they appear to be getting better as the season rolls along. Georgia is bound to lose a game at some point, and that is going to happen on Saturday in the SEC Championship Game.

Alabama Crimson Tide moneyline

Best Total Pick

The Big Ten Championship Game will feature the Iowa Hawkeyes and Michigan Wolverines, and these two teams couldn’t be any different. Every game that Iowa plays in tends to have a very low point total, and that is the case in this one.

While betting the under is usually the right play with every game for the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Michigan Wolverines have an explosive offense. Iowa is not going to do much to help push the point total to over, but Michigan will push that point total to over 35.5 total points.

Iowa Hawkeyes/Michigan Wolverines Over 35.5

Best Player Prop

The Pac-12 Championship Game could be the best game of the entire weekend as the Oregon Ducks and Washington Huskies are set to battle it out. Washington won the regular season meeting over Oregon earlier this season, but the odds for this game are much different.

The Oregon Ducks have been on an absolute tear since that loss to Washington, and Bo Nix has been setting the tone. Bet on the over 2.5 Passing Touchdowns for Bo Nix in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Bo Nix Over 2.5 Touchdown Passes

Best Team Prop

The ACC Championship Game will have the Florida State Seminoles looking to remain undefeated. The Louisville Cardinals are trying to bounce back after a bad loss to the Kentucky Wildcats, but it’s still been a great season for this team.

Florida State is still without superstar Jordan Travis, and that is going to eventually cost them in a big way, and Louisville will be the team. An interesting team prop to make in this game is to take the Louisville Cardinals to have the lead at both halftime and to win the game outright.

Louisville Cardinals Halftime/Fulltime

New Mexico State Aggies vs. Liberty Flames

The Conference USA Championship Game is one to include in the Week 14 NCAA football picks as the New Mexico State Aggies visit the Liberty Flames. Liberty is trying to cap off a perfect season, and they are big betting favorites in this matchup.

New Mexico State has a ton of momentum ahead of this matchup, especially after picking up a big road win over Auburn. While the Aggies might be playing better, Liberty is the better overall team and they will roll to a blowout in this game.

Liberty Flames -10.5

Miami (OH) Redhawks vs. Toledo Rockets

The MAC Championship Game is always one to watch and there are two great teams set to take the field in Detroit. The Toledo Rockets are big eight-point betting favorites over the Miami (OH) Redhawks, but that’s not the best wager to make.

You are going to want to focus on the total number of points in this game, and things tend to heat up in a hurry in this conference. It’s going to take at least 30 points to win this game, and taking the over 45.5 total points is the way to go.

MAC Championship Game: Over 45.5 Total Points

Boise State Broncos vs. UNLV Runnin’ Rebels

The Mountain West Conference has some terrific teams, and two of those teams are set to battle it out in the conference championship game. This will be a great game to focus on when making Week 14 NCAA football picks as the Broncos are slim three-point betting favorites.

Boise State comes into this game with a record of just 7-5, but they are a team that has a ton of momentum. UNLV is coming into this game off of a loss to the San Jose State Spartans, and they aren’t going to recover. Bet on the Broncos to not only win, but to also cover the small spread.

Boise State Broncos -3.0

SMU Mustangs vs. Tulane Green Wave

The American Athletic Championship Game features two teams that have lost just three total games, and it should set up for a battle. The SMU Mustangs are slim betting underdogs in this game, while Tulane comes into this game at 11-1.

This SMU offense has been on an absolute tear this season, and they should be able to put points on the board in a hurry. Tulane is going to struggle to keep pace, and you should be looking at picking the upset in this matchup.

SMU Mustangs Moneyline (+150)

Appalachian State Mountaineers vs. Troy Trojans

The Troy Trojans are big 6.5-point betting favorites over the Appalachian State Mountaineers in the Sun Belt Championship Game. This Mountaineers team has been playing great football this season, but they are going to run into a great team in this game.

Troy is averaging just 29.7 points per game this season, but they have a defense that can completely shut down opponents. This should end up being a good game, but the Trojans are going to win by a touchdown or more.

Troy Trojans -6.5

When considering your Week 14 NCAA football picks, there are some interesting trends. Since 2005, underdogs have won 54 percent of all conference title games. When you break it down further though, true home and road underdogs have won over 62 percent of the time. Three of the title games are played on campus at the home of the regular season conference champion. Those three games are the Conference USA, American Athletic, and Sun Belt conference championships.

For those betting on totals, keep the following in mind when making your Week 14 NCAA football picks. The split is right around 50 percent for the Over and Under, which is to be expected. However, the Mountain West and the Big 12 have gone almost 75 percent to the Under. The SEC, on the other hand, has seen the Over-hit more than 70 percent of the time.

Week 14 NCAA Football Picks FAQs

How many championship games are there in Week 14?

There are a total of 10 FBS conferences and each one holds a championship game at the end of the season. Usually, the only Power 5 title game on Friday has been the Pac-12, which fits with the conference’s Pac-12 After Dark mantra. This year, the Conference USA title game is also on Friday. The other eight conferences will play their championships on Saturday. The first game kicks off at noon. The final games of the day kickoff at 8 p.m. ET. Get your Week 14 NCAA football picks in before then.

How are the teams determined for the conference championship games?

Most conferences did away with the traditional divisions. In the past division winners would meet for a championship. Out of the ten conferences, the Big Ten, the MAC, SEC, and Sun Belt are the only conferences that still have division winners playing for a championship. In the others, the top two teams in the conference standings play for the title.

How can I bet totals in the conference championship games?

Look for low totals, i.e. 48 or lower, when looking for Week 14 NCAA football picks. Totals at 45 or lower have gone 9-1 to the Over. Take it up to 48 and the Over is 17-9. Only one of last year’s conference championship games had a total lower than 50. The Sun Belt title game between Troy and Coastal Carolina had a posted total of 49. Troy ended up winning 45-26.
