Week 16 NFL Picks

Week 16 NFL Picks

How can it be Week 16 already? The old saying goes, time flies when you’re having fun, and the 2023 NFL season has definitely been that. As the playoff picture begins to clear, predicting the outcomes of games becomes more difficult. That’s where we come in with our Week 16 NFL picks.

The week kicks off with a great matchup in Los Angeles on Thursday Night Football. The New Orleans Saints travel to play the Los Angeles Rams in a game that actually has meaning in the playoff standings. The Saints are in a fight for the NFC South lead, while the Rams are currently in the last NFC wild card spot. The Rams are currently a 4½-point home favorite with the total set at 44.5.

If the holiday season doesn’t already give you enough to love, you have to love the extra football we get to watch on Saturdays. This Saturday features a doubleheader starting with an AFC North clash when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Cincinnati Bengals. Our cappers are already focusing on this one for their Week 16 NFL picks.

Who Can Make Up Ground Down the Stretch?

The second Saturday matchup doesn’t create quite as much of a stir after the Chargers seemingly gave up on Thursday Night Football in Week 15. However, the Buffalo Bills will travel to Los Angeles to play the Chargers on Saturday night. Buffalo are currently a 13.5-point road favorite.

With two wins in a row, the Bills are right back in the thick of the playoff race. However, they carry the ninth seed heading into Week 16 action. Are you ready for our week 16 NFL picks?

The calendar sets up an interesting schedule for the NFL in the next two weeks. Sunday is Christmas Eve, making Sunday for Week 17 New Year’s Eve! Can you say party! Both days offer a full slate on the schedule.

There are six games in the early afternoon Week 16 window, with three late afternoon games. The Patriots and Broncos wrap things up on Sunday night football from Mile High Stadium.

The action for Week 16 NFL picks doesn’t end there. We also have a Christmas Day Monday tripleheader. Let’s take a look at the three games we will enjoy as we unwrap our presents and enjoy time with our loved ones. All these games will all have meaning.

  • Raiders @ Chiefs (-10) (1:00 p.m. ET)
  • Giants @ Eagles (-10.5) (4:30 p.m. ET)
  • Ravens @ 49ers (-4.5) (8:15 p.m. ET)

Point Spreads, Moneylines & Totals For Week 16 NFL Picks

It’s been tough this season to get a handle on what’s going to happen from week to week. One week a team will look like Super Bowl champs, then look like a dumpster fire the next. It’s time to get onboard with Sports Hub for your Week 16 NFL picks and get on the winning side.

After seeing the point spreads for Monday action, you might think it’s a week of big spreads. However, that’s not the case. 12 of the 16 games in Week 16 have a point spread of 4.5 or less. Other than the above lines, the only other line greater than 4.5 is the Broncos at -5.5.

Week 16 shows an interesting trend when looking at game totals. The Cowboys at Dolphins is the only total above 50 (51), with 4 totals in the 30’s. All other OVER/UNDERs for the week are between 42.5 and 46.5.

Let’s take a closer look at some Week 16 points spreads and totals to keep an eye on:

  • Bengals @ Steelers (+2 / 39.5)
  • Colts @ Falcons (+1.5 / 44.5)
  • Commanders @ Jets (-3 / 38)
  • Browns @ Texans (-2.5 / 42.5)
  • Lions @ Vikings (+3.5 / 46.5)
  • Cowboys @ Dolphins (-1.5 / 51)
  • Patriots @ Broncos (-5.5 / 36)

Best Pick ATS

The NFL has scheduled a pair of games on Saturday, and the Cincinnati Bengals visit the Pittsburgh Steelers in one of those matchups. Cincinnati has been able to rattle off three straight wins, while the Steelers have dropped three games in a row.

Quarterback Jake Browning has been rolling on offense for the Bengals during this three game winning streak, and that offense should shine in this game. Pittsburgh just looks like a team without answers, and they are going to struggle yet again.

Cincinnati Bengals -2.5

Best Moneyline Pick

The Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings will meet up on Sunday for a huge showdown in the NFC North Division. Detroit is coming into this game as a slim three-point betting favorite, and they are a team that can score points in a hurry.

Minnesota has been extremely inconsistent all season long, but they have also proven that they can compete with any team in the league. It’s not easy to win on the road, and the Lions are going to find that out as they will lose this game as a three-point favorite.

Minnesota Vikings +125

Best Total Pick

The Dallas Cowboys are set to visit the Miami Dolphins in Week 16 and this should be one of the best games of the weekend. Miami is a slim 1.5-point betting favorite at home, but you should be focusing on the total number of points in this matchup.

Dallas had scored at least 33 points in four straight games before a Week 15 loss, but they will find success against the Dolphins defense. Miami knows that it must score points to win games, and they are going to score at least 30 points.

Dallas Cowboys/Miami Dolphins: Over 51.5

Best Player Prop

If you are making Week 16 NFL picks then you will want to look for some prop betting options as well. There are some terrific players in the NFL this season, and betting on a player to score a touchdown is always a good option.

Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs has been shut out of the end zone in recent weeks, but he is a player that will have success in this game. It’s time for Kelce to get back in the scoring column, and he will find a ton of holes in the Raiders defense.

Travis Kelce Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Best Team Prop

Not only can you bet on player props when making Week 16 NFL picks, but you can also look at some team props. One good way to bet on team props is to bet on a team to be winning at halftime and also to win the game.

The Chicago Bears host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon, and the home team should have little trouble taking control of this game. Bet on the Bears to get out to an early lead in this one, and they will finish the win off as well.

Chicago Bears Halftime/Fulltime Winner

New England Patriots vs. Denver Broncos

It’s been a rough year for the New England Patriots as they are just 3-11 through the first 14 games. New England will be in Denver to face the 7-7 Broncos, and the home team has to find a way to win this game.

Denver has been extremely inconsistent this season, but this should be a game in which they can take control right away. The Broncos are going to find a way to score enough points to win and cover the spread in this matchup.

Cleveland Browns vs. Houston Texans

The Houston Texans have been a huge surprise in the NFL this season, and they are 2.5-point betting favorites in Week 16. Houston will be hosting the Cleveland Browns, and Joe Flacco has brought that team back to life as well.

Houston has been able to overcome some bad injuries to continue to win games, but they are facing a great defense in this game. Taking the Browns to pull off this upset on Sunday is going to be one of the best Week 16 NFL picks to make.

Cleveland Browns moneyline

Washington Commanders vs. New York Jets

A pair of disappointing teams are going to be meeting up in New York as the 4-10 Washington Commanders visit the 5-9 Jets. Both of these teams have been eliminated from playoff contention, and there won’t be much motivation to play in this game.

The Commanders are searching for a quarterback to lead them in the future, and the Jets are playing with a backup under center. Don’t expect much offense in this game at all, and it’s not going to be a great game to watch for those that like points.

Washington Commanders vs. New York Jets: Under 38.5 Total Points

Seattle Seahawks vs. Tennessee Titans

The 7-7 Seattle Seahawks are set to visit the 5-9 Tennessee Titans for a big game for each team. Seattle just had a stunning win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football to get back in the NFC Playoff race.

Tennessee has had some big moments throughout the year, but rookie quarterback Will Levis has also struggled at times. The Titans should be able to keep this game close on their home turf, but ultimately the Seahawks will get another win.

Seattle Seahawks -2.5

Green Bay Packers vs. Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers will be looking for their third win of the season when they host the 6-8 Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Green Bay looked to have turned things around, but the defense for this team has completely let them down.

Carolina is another team that has struggled to get stops against a good offense, and the Packers definitely represent that in this matchup. Look for Packers quarterback Jordan Love to have a big game on Sunday as he throws at least two touchdown passes.
