Week 17 NFL Picks

With only two weeks left in the season, we’re here for your Week 17 NFL picks. Things get started in Cleveland when the Browns host the Jets on Thursday Night Football, with the Cowboys hosting the Lions on Saturday Night.

The Sunday schedule, New Year’s Eve, features a huge 14-game slate with several games that will go a long way in the playoff picture. Our expert handicappers are already diving deep into the schedule for their Week 17 NFL picks.

Week 16 didn’t clear the playoff picture much, with a lot still left to be decided. It’s going to be a great closing 2 weeks! We can’t wait to get going again on Thursday.

2023 NFL Playoff Picture

There is still a lot left to be decided in both conferences. The Detroit Lions with their Week 16 win captured their first NFC North title since. In the NFC, the 49ers are the only other team that has captured their division – other than the Lions.

One amazing stat is that even though there is only two weeks left, there are only four teams that have mathematically been eliminated from playoff contention in both conferences.

The AFC playoff picture is even less clear than the NFC with the Dolphins and Ravens being the only teams to have clinched a playoff berth.

The Cleveland Browns look like they have a solid shot at a Wild Card with 10 wins, however, seven teams have between nine and seven wins with them all still fighting for a coveted wildcard berth.

It’s essentially the same scenario in the NFC. The only difference is that the Cowboys and Eagles – both in the NFC East – are the only double-digit win teams in the same division. Six teams have seven or eight wins, looking to win out and sneak into the second season.

Week 17 NFL Picks – Point Spreads, Moneylines & Totals

There are a bunch of games to watch for Week 17 NFL picks. Some include New Orleans at Tampa Bay, Miami at Baltimore, Pittsburgh at Seattle, and Cincinnati at Kansas City.

Green Bay and Minnesota round out the Sunday schedule on Sunday Night Football, another game that could have huge playoff implications. The Vikings are currently a 2-point home favorite with the total set at 46.5.

On Saturday night, the Cowboys are a 6-point favorite when they host the Lions. How will the Cowboys respond after a tough loss in Miami, while the Lions are riding high after clinching their division?

Here are some more point spreads we will be watching closely:

  • Jets @ Browns (-7)
  • Patriots @ Bills (-12)
  • Falcons @ Bears (-3)
  • Saints @ Bucs (-3)
  • Steelers @ Seahawks (-3.5)
  • Chargers @ Broncos (-5.5)

Best Pick ATS

When looking to make Week 17 NFL picks you are going to want to start by making picks against the spread. There are some interesting games on the schedule, including the 7-8 Falcons visiting the 6-9 Chicago Bears.

Atlanta has not been able to find an answer at the quarterback position this season, and they are facing a defense that can put together some big plays. Chicago is going to get just enough offense to take control of this one as they will win by at least a touchdown at home.

Chicago Bears -3.0

Best Moneyline Pick

The top seed in the AFC will be up for grabs on Sunday as the Miami Dolphins are set to visit the Baltimore Ravens. These are two of the top offensive teams in the league, and it will likely be a playoff preview in the AFC.

Miami is going to be playing a desperate brand of football in this game, and that is something to keep in mind in this matchup. Baltimore has been on a roll of late, and they are going to do what it takes to win this game on their home field.

Best Total Pick

The Green Bay Packers visit the Minnesota Vikings for a huge NFC North rivalry game in Week 17. This is going to be one of the best Week 17 NFL picks to make, especially when you check out the total number of points scored in this matchup.

This is a matchup of two 7-8 teams that need to win a game to get into the playoffs, and both teams will be taking shots down the field. Betting on the over 45.5 total points is the way to go as one team is going to score at least four touchdowns in this game.

Green Bay Packers/Minnesota Vikings: Over 45.5 Total Points

Best Player Prop

The Kansas City Chiefs are suddenly scrambling to even reach the playoffs as they have now dropped three of their last four games. Kansas City will be hosting the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17, and that’s another team that has been hard to figure out.

If you are going to bet on the Chiefs this weekend it’s best to make Week 17 NFL picks on player props from this game. Travis Kelce is a player that has bailed out the Chiefs in the past, and he will find the end zone for his team again in this matchup.

Travis Kelce Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Best Team Prop

The New England Patriots are visiting the Buffalo Bills in Week 17, and this is a big rivalry game in the NFL. Buffalo has been on a remarkable roll of late, but this New England Patriots team has made some huge plays as well.

There are many different ways to make team prop bets in the NFL, including betting on a team to be winning at halftime. Taking the Bills to lead at halftime and to win the game is the way to go in this one as they will be in control right away.

Buffalo Bills Halftime/Fulltime Winner

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Indianapolis Colts

The Raiders are coming to Indianapolis with a ton of momentum after picking up a huge road win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Even though things change weekly in the NFL, this is going to be a big battle for them.

Indianapolis has not been consistent all season long, and that is going to be something to keep an eye on in this game. The Colts are just too hard to trust, and taking the Raiders to win as a three-point underdog is the way to go.

Las Vegas Raiders moneyline

Tennessee Titans vs. Houston Texans

The Tennessee Titans will visit the Houston Texans for a big showdown in the AFC South Division. Houston has had a terrific season, but it’s starting to get pretty hard to trust them as the season is coming to an end.

Houston should be good enough to win and cover the 3.5-point spread in this game, but looking at player props is better for this matchup. Bet on Derrick Henry to find the end zone in this game as he continues to be consistent for Tennessee.

Derrick Henry Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Los Angeles Rams vs. New York Giants

The 8-7 Los Angeles Rams are trying to get into the playoffs in the NFC and they are big 6.5-point road favorites against the New York Giants. Matthew Stafford and company just continue to score points, and that will be something to watch in this game.

New York is back to Tyrod Taylor at the quarterback position, and that is going to lead to some trouble in this matchup. The Giants just won’t be very competitive in this one and taking the Rams at -6.5 is the way to go.

New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The NFC South title is still up for grabs as the Saints visit the Buccaneers in Week 17. This will be one of the top Week 17 NFL picks to make, especially when focusing on the total number of points in this game.

The Saints do not have the firepower to keep up with the Buccaneers on offense, but that won’t be a huge concern in this game. Tampa Bay is going to have to slow things down a bit, and the first team to 20 points will win this game.

New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Under 41.5

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Seattle Seahawks

Two of the most inconsistent teams in the league will meet in Week 17 when the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Seattle Seahawks. It has been nearly impossible to figure these two teams out this season, but Seattle is a 3.5-point betting favorite at home in this game.

Pittsburgh is going to be trying to win this game with defense, and they might be able to have some success against a Seahawks team that isn’t great offensively. Seattle should be able to win this game, but it’s going to be by a field goal or less.

Pittsburgh Steelers +3.5
