SportsCapping

Sports Capping (SportsCapping.com) launched in 2003 and has been going strong for 20+ years. If you’re in the market for sports picks, you’ve likely come across the Sports Capping platform.

We’ll explain all of the features of the service in our SportsCapping review.

  • There are 50+ handicappers available to purchase plays from.
  • SportsCapping tracks the results and provides documented historical results.
  • Free picks are released every week covering the major US sports.
  • There’s an insightful weekly podcast available during football season (NFL/CFB).
  • Prospective sports cappers can potentially join the platform and sell plays.

  • The single pick packages and subscriptions are costly.
  • Many of the cappers don’t release enough plays to make a subscription worthwhile.
  • The website is barebones and lacks features to help new sports bettors.

SportsCapping Review

Sports Capping is a barebones sports handicapping website. Don’t let the design scare you away. There are a number of professional handicappers that sell sports picks on Sports Capping. Sports Capping is essentially a reseller and you may recognize some of the cappers selling picks on the platform.

There are various ways to purchase sports picks. There are daily packages where you’ll receive all of the plays from a single handicapper. There are also weekly, monthly, annual and season-long subscriptions that can be purchased once you trust a handicapper and want to follow them long-term.

Like a lot of sports handicapping services, there’s no all-in-one package, though. Sports bettors are only able to buy sports picks from a single handicapper, which is one of the cons at SportsCapping.

Sports Capping also releases free picks for major US sports. If you click on the “Schedule” tab, you’ll be able to see the day’s games where Sports Capping cappers have released plays. There’s a section for premium picks (must be purchased) and there’s a section for free plays that are released.

There are also live sports odds available, allowing you to shop around for the best odds before placing a wager. There’s also a “Research” section where you can analyze historical results.

SportsCapping Features

There aren’t a lot of features at SportsCapping, but there doesn’t need to be. The main goal of the site is to sell sports picks packages from several experts. Some of the handicappers on the platform include AJ May, Matt Fargo, Jack Jones, Hunter Price, Mark Wilson, Kyle Hunter, Sal Michaels and AAA Sports.

In total, there are 50+ handicappers selling picks at SportsCapping. One feature missing is the ability to purchase picks from all of the handicappers or a group of them at a discount.

There’s a standalone page that lists all of the free picks for that day. The cappers will provide insights with their free plays, which will give you an idea of what’s important to look for when handicapping. Signing up for the SportsCapping email list will allow you to receive free picks directly in your inbox.

One feature I really like are the real-time leaderboards. New users can check out the leaderboard to see how handicappers have performed historically. There are multiple filters for the leaderboards, which will allow you to see the most profitable cappers based on sport or timeframe.

There’s a live odds tool, but not many bookies are featured on the list. SportsCapping also doesn’t link out to any sportsbooks, which means there’s no conflict of interest with them selling sports picks.

SportsCapping also release a weekly podcast available on iTunes or SoundCloud, but it’s only available during the football season. You can also listen to the podcast directly from the SportsCapping website.

Are you a sports handicapper? Sports Capping has an application form for new handicappers. You’ll need to illustrate how you have an edge before being able to sell on the platform. During the first six months, you’ll be on a trial period where you can also sell single pick packages to clients.

SportsCapping Pricing

The pricing at SportsCapping varies based on the number of picks or length of the package. Single picks start out at $29.97 and go up from there, which can add up quickly. Unless you’re betting $300+/game, purchasing single picks isn’t a wise investment, as you won’t turn a profit.

It’s important to realize even purchased sports picks won’t hit above 60% long-term. A monthly all access pass for a single handicapper will run about $400, which is less than $15/day. However, you should make sure that the handicapper is releasing enough plays to get value out of a longer subscription.

An annual subscription to a single handicapper will run about $1500, which is less than $5/day. If you’re comfortable with the handicapper and results, purchasing longer-term subscriptions is the best value.

Getting Started

Before you can purchase sports picks from SportsCapping, you need to open an account. In order to be able to access purchased picks, you need to decide whether you want to use email or SMS. You’ll have the choice between receiving emails when picks are released or through SMS.

There are guides on how to ensure you’re correctly receiving the plays. I recommend setting up SMS, as it’ll allow you to get the pick as quickly as possible, which is important. Lines move in sports betting and getting the best line before any movement will play a big role in whether or not you turn a profit.

SportsCapping won’t issue refunds for sports picks packages, but they offer a guarantee. If the package you purchase loses money, you’ll be able to purchase another package at the same value for free.

Conclusion

SportsCapping may be missing some features other competitors offer, but they offer the most important feature in my opinion, which is documented results. Being able to see how a handicapper has performed since joining SportsCapping will give new users the trust they need to make a purchase.

I’m not a fan of only being able to buy a package with picks from a single capper. I understand the reason, as SportsCapping is a reseller platform and the revenues wouldn’t be able to be split evenly. There are only a few handicappers on the platform that I’d trust to turn a profit long-term.

Once you’re signed up and have purchased a picks package, there’s really no need to visit the site, as all of the picks will be delivered by email or SMS. If there are any problems or you have any questions, you can contact SportsCapping by email ([email protected]) at any time for assistance.
